Lee Earl Smith, of Supply, was born to James Moore and Geraldine Smith Moore on August 9, 1950, in Clayton, North Carolina. Lee entered into eternal rest on May 23, 2018, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Lee attended Cooper High School in Clayton. Soon after high school, Lee began his career as a police officer and began traveling to different cities doing police work. Lee eventually finished out his police career in Southport, where he retired on September 1, 2000. Lee was a great officer, father and friend who truly will be missed.
Lee was preceded in death by both parents as well as his two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Brittany Smith of Supply; three sons, Gregory Smith (Crystal), Michael Smith and Steven Smith of Clayton; a brother, Billy Smith of Clayton; eight grandchildren; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 1, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Goodwill Funeral Service’s chapel in Whiteville.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at Big Macedonia Baptist Church, Supply.
